Frequently Asked Questions

How does Calorithm integrate with Apple Health?

Calorithm seamlessly connects with Apple Health to retrieve your activity data (Active Energy and Resting Energy) and weight information. When you first launch the app, you'll be prompted to grant permission for Calorithm to access this data from Health. You can adjust these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app under Privacy > Health.

How do I log my food intake?

To log your food intake, tap the "+" button on the daily view screen. Enter the calorie amount and optionally add a note about the meal. Your entry will be saved and immediately reflected in your daily calorie balance.

Can I edit or delete a food entry?

Yes, you can edit or delete any food entry. On the daily view screen, tap on the entry you wish to modify. You'll see options to edit the calorie amount, change the note, or delete the entry entirely.

Why isn't my activity data showing up?

There could be several reasons:

  • You haven't granted Calorithm permission to access your Health data
  • Your Apple Watch or other fitness device isn't properly synced with Health
  • There's no activity data recorded for the selected date

Check your Health app to ensure data is being recorded, and verify that Calorithm has the necessary permissions in Settings > Privacy > Health.

How accurate is the calorie balance calculation?

Calorithm's calorie balance calculation is based on the data provided by Apple Health for your energy expenditure and your manually entered food intake. The accuracy depends on several factors, including the accuracy of your fitness device's measurements and the precision of your food logging. For best results, be consistent with logging your meals and ensure your fitness devices are properly calibrated.

Does Calorithm work without an Apple Watch?

Yes, Calorithm can work without an Apple Watch. The iPhone itself can track some activity data, though an Apple Watch or other fitness device that syncs with Health will provide more comprehensive data. You can also manually log your exercise in the Health app, which will then be reflected in Calorithm.

Is my data secure?

Yes, your privacy and data security are our top priorities. All health and food intake data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
