Wampo is a personally developed app. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you use the mobile application "Wampo" (the "App").

Information Collected

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App uses the following types of information:

Location Data (GPS)

The App uses location data to record walking routes and to retrieve weather information. Walking route data is stored locally on your device. For weather features, your latitude and longitude are sent to the Open-Meteo weather service, and map tile coordinates are sent to the Japan Meteorological Agency for rain radar display.

Camera & Photo Library

The App may request access to your camera or photo library for setting dog profile photos. Images are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to any external servers.

Weather Information

The App retrieves weather information from Open-Meteo (latitude and longitude) and rain radar tiles from the Japan Meteorological Agency (map tile coordinates) to suggest suitable walking times. No personally identifiable information is transmitted in this communication.

Map Display

The App uses Google Maps to display walking routes. Google's privacy policy applies to the use of Google Maps. The App does not provide personally identifiable information to Google.

How Information Is Used

Information collected is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Recording and displaying walking routes
  • Managing dog profiles
  • Suggesting suitable walking times
  • Displaying walk history and statistics
  • Measuring app usage to improve features (Firebase Analytics)

Information Sharing

Your personal information is never sold, traded, or transferred to third parties.

Third-Party Service Providers

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Maps: Used for displaying walking route maps. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Open-Meteo: Used for retrieving weather forecasts (temperature, precipitation, wind speed). Your latitude and longitude are sent. Open-Meteo's terms apply.
  • Japan Meteorological Agency API: Used for rain radar display. Only map tile coordinates are transmitted.
  • Firebase Analytics (Google): Used to measure app usage (e.g., walk start/complete, tab selection) and improve features. Device identifiers and in-app events are collected. You can opt out by enabling "Stop sending usage data" in the App's settings. Google's privacy policy applies.

Data Storage

  • Walk Data: Routes, markers, and statistics are all stored locally on your device. No data is sent to external servers.
  • Dog Profiles: Names, photos, and other profile information are stored locally on your device.

The App does not have an account registration feature. All data is stored exclusively on your device.

Data Security

All data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to external servers. However, the physical security of your device is under your control.

Your Data Rights

  • Data Deletion: Uninstalling the App will delete all data.
  • Disabling Location Access: You can disable the App's access to location data at any time through iOS Settings.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be communicated by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
